The mobile coffee bar has found a permanent spot near downtown Eugene.
Kohi Time Coffee Counter will be opening on the first level of the Union Broadway apartment building at 480 E Broadway in Eugene. Owner Genelle Izumi told What Now Portland she does not have an opening date yet, but she is hoping to begin business before the University of Oregon starts classes on Sept. 29.
The name implies that the shop is actually a coffee counter. It is a smaller space that does not have many tables and connects directly to the building lobby. According to a recent social media post, work is being done on the interior.
“Slow and steady wins the race,” says the recent social media post.
The mobile coffee bar has been around for over three years, serving matchas, lattes and sweet drinks using local ingredients. Izumi has been driving her van around Eugene promoting her business. In the past, Izumi has collaborated with other businesses at events that featured mobile food carts.
The business has gained a following on social media, with many expressing excitement about the new location. The exact menu is not yet known, but fans can expect the same coffees and brews that were served from the van.
More information on Kohi Time and progress on the new space can be found on their Facebook page.
