The Vietnamese steakhouse is getting an upgrade with a new location early next year
Pho Kita is entering a new chapter as their Hillsboro location is closing tomorrow. Following the closure, staff of the steak and ribs spot are planning on opening a new restaurant in the Beaverton area. Co-owner Helen Phan told What Now Portland the address is not being disclosed yet as they want to release this information closer to the opening next month.
The project was first announced in a recent Facebook post, being advertised as a restaurant with “better food, better vibes, and better looking.” The new space will also be larger inside.
“We want to stay true to who we are,” Phan said.
Phan and her husband Chinh opened the Hillsboro restaurant in 2023, at 1425 NW 185th Avenue. Since opening, it has become one of the highest-rated steakhouses in the area. They wanted to create their own restaurant for decades, and when the two realized the business was a success, they sought out a new location.
The new menu will be similar to the Hillsboro spot with some changes. Their current menu features a variety of full steaks including a prime bone-in New York strip and angus boneless ribeye. It also offers a steak bites salad with cucumbers, tomatoes and a house-made vinaigrette salad.
Phan is in charge of the mixology, or drinks, and Chinh handles most of the cooking portion. Together with the rest of their family, they are hoping to bring an upgraded Vietnamese dining experience to the suburb.
