A new mobile bar trailer with the name Rain & Rye may be coming soon.
The applicant Kevin Candelaria recently applied for new space at 685 SE Belmont Street. The business is described as a mobile bar trailer. In the application it says “hours depend.” There will also be outdoor dining, with both food and alcohol service.
The days of the week the business will be open is yet to be determined. There will be seasonal variation as this is a mobile trailer. In the application, this is listed as a “full on-premises license.”
It is not confirmed where the trailer will go on the street, but it will be near restaurants such as Hit the Spot Hamburger and Hat Yai Belmont Thai, also across the street from Living Haus Beer Company. This is near the corner of SE Belmont Street and SE 7th Avenue.
Mobile bar trucks are not uncommon in the Portland area. These types of business are already established around the city including Sip Society Mobile Bar, Booze Trucks and Tiddly Trailer Bar Company.
Candelaria is also an event coordinator for 10 Barrel Brewing at 1411 NW Flanders Street. The timeline of opening is not known, and when contacted, Candelaria was not available for comment.
