The Syrian restaurant that has gained popularity in Salem will soon have a sister location in Dallas.
Damascus Kitchen staff have advertised on their social media a new restaurant is coming to 995 S Main Street in downtown. This will be takeout featuring a brand new food truck. There is not yet an opening date, but owner Mohammad Alawad told What Now Portland it is “coming soon.”
Alawad helped his mother open their other location at 440 State Street in Salem in 2024. This is inside the Fork Forty Food Hall. Since opening, the business has become known as a staple spot for shawarma in Northwest Oregon.
Alawad said the menu for the food truck will be exactly the same as the Salem restaurant. Their popular chicken shawarma wrap will be served, along with the lamb wrap and taboula salad. Additional items have not yet been announced.
The food truck is parked at the corner of Main Street and SE Washington Street. It will share the corner with Pad Thai King and Bombastic bubble tea. Gather the bar is also next to the food truck space.
