A coffee shop also serving cocktails, wine and beer is relocating to a new spot in Sellwood this fall.
A new liquor license application under Slow Pour Coffee + Bar was recently submitted for 7727 SE 13th Avenue in Sellwood. This is going to be a slightly smaller space than the previous Slows Pour location, still selling the signature drinks. According to owner Dustin Payne, he is looking at an October opening.
The shop was previously at 8524 SE 17th Avenue, also in Sellwood. It became a destination in the neighborhood as many could come for both coffee and drinks like mimosas, craft beer and wine. The space also hosted events like painting nights and stand-up shows.
“Inspired by the Sellwood neighborhood spirit, where conversation blooms and writers, artists, activists and creative make their home, we’ve made the conscious decision to slow things down,” says the description on their website.
Payne said the menu will be very much the same as the previous location. He added they will be serving a margarita that is infused with sake, and not real tequila as the alcohol served needs to be limited. This will be one of their signature drinks served.
Right now, Payne is waiting for an occupancy change to move into the space. He and his wife are looking forward to inviting back loyal customers to Slow Pour. and as they have an attachment to the Sellwood neighborhood they wanted to make sure they stayed in the area.
The hours for the new location will be the same as the SE 17th Avenue shop, which are listed on their Instagram page @slowpourcoffeebar.
