A coffee roaster company is entering a new chapter with a new facility for brewing.

Upper Left Roasters recently took to social media to announce their new roasting facility opening in SE Portland. The address has not been confirmed, but it is the old Stumptown cold brew facility space, per Bridgetown Bites. There are plans for events and public access in the future.

Staff at the cafe said there may be limited availability to the public in the future, but it will mainly be a roastery and production space for Upper Left and their sister company True Tea. The coffee roasters have always been at their flagship cafe, 1204 SE Clay Street, but in a recent post, owner Katherine Harris said after 10 years felt it was necessary to create a dedicated space to make the coffee.

“It’s just time to grow and move on to a roastery,” Harris said in the post.

Upper Left brews many different coffee flavors influenced by countries in Central and South America. This includes their Andino, Peru, which features dark chocolate, stone fruit and hazelnut. The greens for the teas will also be kept at this location.

The cafe in East Portland will continue operations as staff are preparing the roastery. What Now Portland has reached out to Harris and is awaiting comment.
