A new restaurant may be in the works from the well-known cheese shop Vtopian.
The business recently applied for space under the name Adelleda. This is at 103 NE Grand Avenue in the Central Eastside area. In the application, it’s indicated there will be restaurant seating for 80 inside.
News of the restaurant started with a recent Instagram post from Vtopian about the business moving out of 3844 SE Gladstone Street to a new spot in the city. It did not indicate where the new location will be, but reflected on the many accomplishments of Vtopian, including opening the brick-and-mortar cheese shop, the food cart and extending reach to nine farmers markets around Oregon.
“We will be closing down at the end of August and will be reopening in the fall!” Says the post on their Instagram page.
Vtopian Cheese started as a cheese shop and deli in 2015. The company sells a variety of cheese blocks like mozzarella, chili olive and peppercorn brie. They are a food wholesaler that sells both in the shop and online.
The company also operates Unwind, a food cart on the Company wine bar patio at 916 SE 34th Avenue, Suite B. There, the cart serves charcuterie items, pasta and small plates. It is not confirmed if menu items from Unwind will be brought to the new restaurant.
When What Now Portland reached out to owner Ryan Knowles, he did not want to provide any comment. A press release providing more information on the project will be sent out in the near future.
