A new noodle and dumpling spot is coming to the heart of the Pearl District neighborhood.
Ray Chen recently submitted a liquor license application for X Noodles & Dumplings at 870 NW 13th Avenue. This will be a noodle and dumpling restaurant to open in mid-to-late September. According to Chen, he has been working on the project for about a year.
The menu has not been released yet, but the noodles will be house-made. Chen has a sister location with noodles and dumplings in Brentwood, California. This new location would be a full-service restaurant seating 40 inside. Its listed hours of operation are 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Pearl District and downtown Portland have been growing areas for Asian cuisine. There is Franks’s Noodle House, Xin Ding Dumpling House, Shanghai’s Best in Pine Street Market and Stretch The Noodle just to name a few spots. X Noodles & Dumplings will grow the options for dumplings in Pearl District.
The new business will be going in at the corner of NW 13th Avenue and NW Kearney Street, right across from Jojo sandwich restaurant. Also close to the new space are Kure Superfood Cafe and Battle Creek Cellars by Browne Family Tasting Room.
X Noodles & Dumplings has not yet set up a social media account, but more updates on the space will be released in the near future.
