Toys “R” Us is returning to Vancouver Mall at 8700 NE Vancouver Mall Drive in Vancouver, Washington, with an opening expected in October. The brand’s website lists the location as Toys “R” Us at Macy’s Vancouver Mall, with no exact date announced yet.

The Vancouver store is one of three planned in Washington this season, along with South Hill Mall in Puyallup and The Outlet Collection Seattle in Auburn. It is part of a nationwide push of about 120 standalone Toys “R” Us stores this holiday season, in partnership with Go! Retail Group. Go! executives said the Washington stores should stay open through the holidays and, hopefully, into next year.

The return comes after the original company filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and closed its stores nationwide in 2018. The brand is now owned by WHP Global, which has been bringing it back in malls across the country.

Vancouver Mall opened in 1977 and covers about 883,000 square feet over two floors, with more than 120 stores. It is owned by Centennial Real Estate, which bought the mall from Westfield in 2015. Anchor tenants include Macy’s, JCPenney, H&M, AMC, Hobby Lobby, Round One and Old Navy.

The mall has added a string of retailers in recent years, including Tilly’s, Sephora, Hollister, MINISO and BoxLunch. Toys “R” Us would join a lineup that already draws families from across Clark County and the Portland metro area.
