- When: October 30, 2025
Bueno Cafe’s menu includes items such as the Delicioso Mocha, Honey Lavender Latte, and Dulce Espresso.
The Sacramento establishment received a red placard during the recent routine inspection. This was based on the following violations of the California Health and Safety Code, as given in the health department’s report:
- Cheese and jalapeno, chorizo, and a few other potentially hazardous foods at Bueno Cafe’s display case measured between 65°F and 66°F. According to the report, the PHFs should be kept at or below 41°F or at or above 135°F.
- The report indicated that hot water measured 67°F, below the required levels. It added that the Sacramento cafe’s health permit was temporarily suspended due to this violation. Plus, the department ordered the facility’s closure and offered it a red placard.

- The posted food manager certificate at the Sacramento establishment expired and should be renewed within 60 days, the report stated. One California Food Handler card has also expired and needs to be renewed within a month.
- The inspection report for Bueno Cafe showed that two dead German adult cockroaches were stuck in glue traps in the cabinet under a microwave.
- Spoons in the customer self-service area of the Sacramento facility were not kept in a way that their mouths could be protected from contamination.
- According to the report, the paper towel dispenser in the men’s restroom was taped. This tape was an unapproved material. So, the report suggested that the dispenser should be repaired/replaced within a month.
- The prep cooler was inoperable, but items were still kept on ice for the entire day at Bueno Cafe. The inspection report suggested a repair/replacement of the cooler within a month.
- The report recommended that unused equipment be removed or repaired within 20 days.
- The back door at Bueno Cafe was open at the start of the inspection, which could allow the entry of insects/birds/animals into the facility.

In order to get a green placard, the Sacramento establishment must correct the highlighted violations in the report.
