[Editor’s note: The reports mentioned here are from inspections conducted on January 20 and may not represent the future health inspection status of the food establishments.]
The Sacramento health department conducted several inspections in the area on January 20. K Fusion Eats and Kindred Seoul were found to be non-compliant with the food safety code and received a yellow placard.
K Fusion Eats
- When: January 20, 2026
- Where: 5301 Power Inn Rd #100, Sacramento, CA 95820
K Fusion Eats serves Asian fusion dishes ranging from bold, spiced dishes to sweet treats. According to the inspection report, the violations include:
- The owner’s food manager certificate was not available for review at the time of inspection. Food handler cards for six employees were also not available.
- The report said that an employee’s drink was seen stored on top of the three-compartment sink. There was an open employee drink placed on bags of onions inside the kitchen.
- Sausages inside a warmer along the main cook line were measured at 115°F and had been held for approximately 1.5 hours, according to the inspection report.
- Cooked rice noodles were seen sitting on a counter near the cook line, measuring 68°F. According to the owner, the noodles were prepared earlier that morning. A cooked sticky rice product was measured at 136°F inside a rice cooker that was not connected to power.
- An eight-quart bucket of chicken soup was stored inside a refrigerator with the lid on. A separate container of 10 pounds of cooked chicken wings was also found cooling improperly in the refrigerator, measuring 46°F, the report said.
- Ice scoop handles were stored in contact with ice inside the ice machine near the front register.


- Hot water at premixed faucets in both restrooms was at a maximum of 66°F, below the required temperatures.
- A bowl was being used as a scoop and stored inside a bulk sugar container, the report said. The to-go containers were stored with food-contact surfaces facing up, and a repeatedly used soup scoop was stored improperly near the cook line.
- There was a two-inch gap between the hood filters, and a left-side burner stove was not fully positioned beneath the ventilation hood, which lacked the required overhang.
- Thermometers were missing from two-door reach-in coolers and a warmer along the main cook line.
- The report observed a mop sink faucet without an anti-siphon device. There was also a broken cove base tile near the handwashing sink in the right restroom and a deteriorated wall near the mop sink, leaving a one-inch gap.
- A shared dumpster lid was left open, and cardboard debris had accumulated on the ground in the dumpster area.

Kindred Seoul
- When: January 20, 2026
- Where: 1215 O St, Sacramento, CA 95814
Kindered Seoul offers homestyle Korean dishes with street food influences. According to the inspection report, violations of the food safety code included:
- The facility did not have an employee with a valid California Manager’s Food Safety Certification. This was cited as a fifth repeat violation.
- An employee beverage without a lid or straw was seen stored inside a walk-in cooler. Another employee’s beverage was stored inside a four-door upright cooler.
- The hand sink on the serving line did not have paper towels, while the hand sink on the cook’s line lacked both soap and paper towels, the report said.
- An empty paper towel dispenser was found in the employee restroom, though a stack of paper towels was placed on top of the dispenser.

- The report said cooked noodles stored on ice measured 60°F, while raw beef patties stored in the back of a cold drawer measured 54°F. Minor temperature violations were also observed, including cheese stored on ice measuring 46°F and raw beef patties in the front of the cold drawer measuring 47°F.
- Raw chicken was stored above cabbage in the walk-in cooler.
- Piping is continually dripping underneath the three-compartment sink.
- The employee restroom also lacked toilet paper.

Follow-up Inspection

The inspection report noted that the restaurants received a yellow placard, and reinspection is expected to be conducted within 24-72 hours of the inspection. In order to receive a green placard, the restaurants must correct all the violations.
