According to city records, a new cafe called Little Morocco Cafe is applying for construction permits to remodel an existing space at 716 7th St in Sacramento to add in necessary kitchen equipment. The business is expected to open soon, either by the end of this year or at the beginning of 2024.
The space was leased through Sacramento-based ROME Commercial Real Estate Group. The lease was signed by Kimberly Morphis, who represented the landlord in this transaction on October 31. According to the real estate group, the space “is strategically situated for a restaurant of its kind, offering ‘Little Morocco Cafe’ the potential to stand out and cater to the gastronomic preferences of its patrons.”
The space is surrounded by various businesses and landmarks, including two courthouses, the HI Sacramento Hostel, Sacramento Central Library, and Sacramento City Hall, in addition to a few large transit stations right around the block, providing ample foot traffic.
The owner of Little Morocco Cafe, Jamal E. Kabbaj, is a successful serial entrepreneur. He also owns a security business called Americo Security in Elk Grove, CA. Kabbaj was not available for comments at the time of this coverage.
