A new Mexican restaurant, Valenz Mexican Kitchen, is taking over the former Fondue 52 space at 3275 Coach Ln Ste B in Cameron Park. The upcoming concept is the first brick-and-mortar rendition of the popular food truck Valenz Tacos.

Valenz Tacos started as a pop-up ghost kitchen during the pandemic. It soon expanded into two food trucks serving adjacent areas. Owner Antonio Valenzuela runs the business with his wife, Verenice, and three sons. Valenzuela decided to sell one of the trucks to fund the upcoming restaurant, which will serve as the future home base of his operations.

Valenz Tacos’ menu features a wide variety of taco plates, burritos, mulitas, nachos, quesadillas and tortas. Valenz Mexican Kitchen’s menu will expand on top of the existing menu to include unique Mexican dishes such as molcajete bowls, a mortar-and-pestle bowl filled with chicken, steak, chorizo, cheese and cactus marinaded in salsa. Valenzuela also plans to acquire a beer and wine license.

The restaurant will occupy approximately 3,280-square-foot of space. The location allows Valenzuela to serve nearby communities, including those living in El Dorado Hills and Folsom, in addition to his existing Camino clientele. Valenzuela hopes to open Valenz Mexican Kitchen in late February and is currently awaiting permits from the health department. The food trucks will continue to operate after the restaurant opens.

Valenzuela hadn’t replied to What Now Sacramento‘s email request for comments by the time of this coverage.
