A new cafe called Chuk Chuk Dessert & Snack is under development in Sacramento at 6825 Stockton Blvd. The dessert bar will fill Ste 240, the former Serenity Dessert space. The cafe is anticipated to open in mid-October or by the first week of November.
“Since it is really hard to find my childhood dessert or authentic dessert like Vietnam in America, I had a wish that one day I could open a dessert shop and could serve/ introduce the traditional Vietnamese’s cake and my childhood’s dessert. Also, the trending dessert in Vietnam which people have hard time to find in America,” owner Truc Doan told What Now Sacramento.
The cafe’s name is pronounced “choo-k choo-k,” and the mascot will be an otter, referring to Truc’s son’s nickname. A first-time cafe owner without previous experience, Doan is opening the cafe following her love and passion for cooking and her desire to bring authentic Vietnamese desserts to the local community. The menu includes coffee, tea, smoothies, desserts, and snacks. The space will have a dine-in area, although Doan expects most of the business to be grab-and-to. The cafe will also offer delivery and catering.
