One restaurant is making way for another in Arden-Arcade.

After just over a year in business, Vechos Eatery quietly closed its doors at 1600 Fulton Ave last Friday, according to The Sacramento Bee. Owner Kevin Ramos told the outlet he decided to shutter the classic American eatery to pursue a new business venture.

Taking over the space is Bangin’ Bowls, a Latin American fusion concept celebrated for its colorful street eats. Founded in 2019 by Nadia Daoud, the eatery draws inspiration from South American and Caribbean cuisines, blending global influences into hearty, flavor-packed bowls.

Daoud already runs a UC Davis location and several mobile eateries across the region, including Mexican street taco truck LA Bangin’ Tacos and an ice cream and churro pop-up called Bangin’ Churro Bar. Now, she’s ready to bring all five of her Bangin’ Bowls concepts together under one roof.

While Daoud could not be reached for comment at the time of publication, she’s aiming to open the new restaurant within the next three months and has thanked Ramos and his team for their support during the transition.
