A popular Mediterranean eatery in East Sacramento is temporarily closing its doors after sustaining significant damage during a break-in on Christmas Day.
Brickland Restaurant & Bar, located at 3301 Folsom Blvd, announced the closure after the space was broken into and vandalized, leaving what the owners described as “significant damage.” In a message shared on social media, owners Rahim and Sheila Amiri said the restaurant will remain closed “until further notice” as repairs are assessed and completed.
“This space means so much to us, and we are heartbroken,” the Amiris wrote, noting that the extent of the damage makes it impossible to safely reopen at this time. No reopening timeline has been shared.
While the exterior of the building appeared largely intact, nearby businesses reported smoke inside their offices, forcing some to cancel appointments and close for the day, according to a report from CBS News. It remains unclear whether Sacramento Police or Sacramento Metro Fire responded to the incident or are actively investigating.
Brickland first opened in August 2022, quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite for its Mediterranean-inspired menu and laid-back, bistro-style atmosphere. The restaurant blends café culture with pizzeria and bar elements, offering specialty lattes alongside savory dishes, decadent desserts, and a full vegan menu. Popular menu items include the tiramisu latte, mantu (Afghan dumplings), cheese flatbread, and vegan samosas.
