A Caribbean restaurant in Downtown Sacramento has temporarily closed as it prepares for a move.

Caribbean Fire Grill served its last to-go plate at 1501 North C St on July 5, 2025. The eatery is now relocating to a bigger, full-service space at 8109 Fruitridge Rd in South Sacramento, the team announced on social media. “Grand opening coming soon.”

A representative for the restaurant told What Now Sacramento that the decision to move was driven by a desire to take the business to the next level. “Going from a take-out place to a full-scale restaurant is a dream come true for the owner, Alourdes Poggy,” she said. “She wants to bring Haiti’s rich culture to Sacramento and share how vibrant and beautiful our island is through our delicious food.”

Since opening last summer, Chef Alourdes “Loudy” has earned a loyal following with her deeply flavorful Caribbean dishes, including slow-cooked oxtail, beef Haitian patties, fried spaghetti, beef stew, baked creole salmon, fried griot, and roasted pork ribs. The eatery also offers catering, bringing its signature island flair to parties and special events.

Caribbean Fire Grill is currently undergoing some minor renovations, and Chef Loudy hopes to welcome guests to the new location before the end of August 2025. For sneak peeks and grand opening updates, be sure to follow Caribbean Fire Grill on Facebook and Instagram.
