A fictitious business name for “Dunya Restaurant” has been filed for a space at 6745 Fair Oaks Blvd. The space was formerly Oh Bento Fish & Chips, which changed hands in 2022 and rebranded to Kabul Fish & Chips. The existing restaurant didn’t share any information about closing or relocating.

According to the fictitious business name application, the owner of Dunya Restaurant is Ghulam Watan, who also owns a carpet shop in Roseville and a general store for authentic Indian products in Sacramento. No alcohol license can be found for the new business or the address. What Now Sacramento reached out to Watan but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.

The proposed restaurant sits near Amoruso Heights and Carmichael North Estates, and the only other eatery in the area is the Starbucks on the corner of Landis Ave and Fair Oaks Ave. The name suggests the upcoming restaurant will most likely serve Indian cuisine and more updates will be made once new information becomes available.
