An Emeryville-based chocolatier is saying goodbye to the Arden Fair mall, but not to Sacramento.
Dipped, a “new-generation chocolate shop” founded by Aliyah Bitanga, has permanently closed its location at 1689 Arden Way. The shop, which opened last spring, officially shuttered on February 25, 2026.
“We’ve decided not to renew our lease at Arden Fair Mall,” the company shared in a social media update. “This space did not align with our long-term growth strategy.”
While the brick-and-mortar chapter at the mall has ended, the brand has made it clear that it isn’t leaving the region behind. “Dipped is not leaving Sacramento,” the post reads. “We have a mobile trailer in the works, a new location designed to serve the community differently, and our wholesale and shipping operations continue to grow.”
In the meantime, local fans will still be able to get their chocolate fix. Dipped products are available through the brand’s first retail partner, One Milk Tea, in the North Highlands area while it works on its next move.
Founded in 2020 out of Bitanga’s home kitchen, Dipped quickly built a following with its artfully decorated, chocolate-covered treats. Today, the company continues to operate its flagship storefront at Bay Street Emeryville in Emeryville.
The menu features a variety of sweet treats, including chocolate-dipped strawberries, dipped Oreos and pretzels, caramel apples, cheesecake bites, marshmallow sticks, and specialty boxes designed for holidays and events.
While it’s still unclear where the new location will land or when it will debut, Dipped is optimistic about what’s ahead. “This chapter may be closing, but our Sacramento story is far from over,” the post continues.
