Following its expansion to Elk Grove last summer, DQ Hawaiian BBQ is already setting its sights on another Sacramento-area outpost.
According to a social media update from the restaurant, DQ’s new location is slated to open at 7423 Fair Oaks Blvd, Suite 9 in Carmichael, where it will join a lineup of familiar quick-service neighbors like Noah’s NY Bagels, Wingstop, and Jamba.
Funder Daiqi Wu said that the approximately 1,700-square-foot space is being designed with a “casual, comfortable, and family-friendly” feel, with a focus on both dine-in and takeout. It will also feature a few fresh updates that set it apart from the Elk Grove eatery.
“For this location, we’re continuing to build on our Hawaiian BBQ core menu, while also introducing a few new items and upgrades to improve overall quality and variety,” Wu told What Now Sacramento. “We’ve been working on refining flavors and presentation based on what has worked well at our Elk Grove store.”
The menu will continue to lean into DQ’s signature blend of Hawaiian, Asian, and American influences. Expect staples like chicken katsu, garlic shrimp, pork lumpia, and cheeseburgers, alongside the fan-favorite BBQ mix plate, featuring a mix of short ribs, teriyaki chicken, and barbecue beef.
Wu shared that the team is in the final stages of preparation, with a soft opening tentatively planned for next weekend, pending any last-minute delays. A grand opening is expected to follow in the coming weeks.
