Estelle Bakery & Patisserie, a Sacramento-based bakery chain, has begun construction for a new location in Davis, CA in the former Konditorei Austrian Pastry Cafe at 2710 5th St. The project is led by Granite Bay general contractor Jones and Lamberti Builders, Inc.

The Sacramento bakery is owned by Esther Son and currently has two other locations in Sacramento, one at Arden Way and another at 615 David J. Stern Walk. Son’s passion for baked goods started at an early age when she would stop by the bakery on her way to school and savor madeleines instead of her lunch. Soh is also the creative force behind Estelle, regardless of her lack of professional pastry training. Estelle’s menu focuses on decadent macarons, artisan breads, and French-style pastries.

The bakery also has a signature afternoon tea offering. While the in-person tea service is on pause at the Sacramento location, guests can order the High Tea for Two pre-order packages on Estelle’s website. The bakery also provides catering services for individuals, companies, and private events.

Son didn’t respond to What Now Sacramento’s request for comments. At this point, there is no detailed project timeline available to indicate an anticipated time of opening. There is no information regarding the construction in Davis on the business’s social media just yet.
