A soufflé pancake and dessert cafe is coming to California.
Fluffy Fluffy Dessert Cafe is opening its first location in the state at 835 Russell Blvd, Suite 180, in The Davis Collection. Another location is also in the works in Elk Grove.
“🥞✨ We’re bringing the fluffiest pancakes to Davis! ✨🥞” franchisee Samantha Lei teased in a recent Facebook update.
Known for its award-winning Japanese-style soufflé pancakes, Fluffy Fluffy has built its reputation on clouds you can eat. The pancakes are light, airy, and often stacked with sweet toppings such as caramelized raspberry, tiramisu, and cookies and cream.
The Fluffy Fluffy menu also features other desserts, including burnt-top cheesecakes, roll cakes, macarons, and savory ‘croffles’ (a croissant-waffle hybrid), plus beverages like lattes and frapuccinos.
Heartier choices include breakfast plates such as the Jalapeño Maple Chicken & Pancakes, Salmon Eggs Benedict, and B.L.T. Sandwich.
Fluffy Fluffy is part of Toronto-based Fuwa Fuwa (which means “fluffly fluffy” in Japanese), founded in 2018. Since then, the brand has grown into North America’s largest soufflé pancake and dessert cafe.
Samantha, who also co-owns Poke Ichii, is “putting the final touches” on the Davis cafe. While an opening date hasn’t been set, fans can catch a sneak peek at The Davis Collection’s grand opening celebration on September 10, 2025. Guests will have a chance to meet the team, learn more about the café, and enter to win a $25 gift card.
