Big changes are coming to Folsom‘s only Chick-fil-A.

The fried chicken franchise at 2679 E Bidwell St in the Broadstone Plaza is set to temporarily close for renovations starting September 25, 2025, and is expected to remain shuttered for about nine weeks, according to The Sacramento Bee. The scope of the remodel has not yet been disclosed.

A WARN Act notice filed with the California Employment Development Department reveals that the closure will leave 85 employees temporarily out of work. However, affected workers will receive all outstanding pay and applicable benefits before the layoff takes effect.

The WARN Act requires employers to give at least 60 days’ notice ahead of mass layoffs impacting 50 or more people. Chick-fil-A’s notice was filed on July 25, 62 days before the planned closure.

Celebrated for its signature chicken sandwich and famously friendly service, Chick-fil-A boasts more than 3,000 restaurants across the country, including 10 in the capital region. The Folsom eatery has been operated by Matt Crane of Crane Food Services LLC since its debut in 2012.

During the closure, chicken lovers can still get their fix at nearby Chick-fil-A locations in Granite Bay, Rancho Cordova, and at the Arden Fair shopping mall.

An exact reopening date was not listed in the WARN letter, which notes that timelines may shift due to “events that are unforeseeable or beyond our control.” For the latest updates, follow the restaurant on social media @cfafolsom.
