An artisanal scoop shop is coming soon to Folsom.
Umbrella Creamery, a new family-run ice cream shop inspired by global travels and nostalgic memories, is preparing to open at 1870 Prairie City Rd, Suite 300, in the Prairie City Crossing shopping center.
Crafted in small batches using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, Umbrella Creamery offers an elevated take on dessert, featuring real fruits, herbs, and spices, with no preservatives or artificial flavors in sight. The menu features timeless classics like Vanilla and Strawberry, plus more inventive creations such as Vegan Choco Chip Cookie Dough and Dubai Chocolate.
But there’s more than just scoops and shakes. Umbrella Creamery will also serve up globally beloved treats like faloodas—layered dessert drinks popular in South Asia—and paletas, creamy Mexican popsicles made from unique fruit-forward flavors.
The name Umbrella Creamery is a nod to small symbols of “warmth, joy, and togetherness,” inspired by early memories of umbrellas at beaches, street carts, and backyard picnics. The concept also draws from the founders’ travels and their grandmother’s kitchen, where unique pairings and comforting flavors often came to life.
“Our mission is that locals line up not just for ice cream, but for a reminder of simpler times and honest indulgence,” reads the shop’s website. “Umbrella Creamery isn’t just an ice cream shop — it’s a celebration of craft, comfort, and community.”
