A new concept from a pair of seasoned restaurateurs is coming to Midtown Sacramento.

Urban Roots Hospitality Group partners Peter Hoey and Rob Archie will soon open Good Neighbor at 1701 R St, in the former Beast + Bounty space at The Ice Blocks development. Though Archie briefly confirmed the news with What Now Sacramento, he was unavailable for further comment.

According to The Sacramento Bee, Good Neighbor’s menu will showcase elevated takes on familiar favorites, including wood-fired pizzas, steaks, burgers, and salads, all crafted using fresh produce from local growers. As with the duo’s other ventures, customers will order at the counter.

To complement the food, beverage director Justin Sheffey will craft a selection of refreshing happy hour cocktails, which guests can enjoy on any of the three outdoor patios. Urban Roots beer will also be available on tap.

Hoey and Archie bring plenty of experience to the table. In 2018, the partners founded their flagship concept, Urban Roots, in Southside Park. Since then, they’ve launched chicken-centric eatery Bawk! and its attached speakeasy, The Roost, in Midtown, as well as Cervecería in East Sacramento. Additionally, Archie and his wife, Kindra, own Pangaea Bier Cafe in Curtis Park.

Good Neighbor is slated to open in June 2025, promising a welcoming dining experience that’s sure to live up to its name.
