A wine bar will be joining the upcoming Redding Market Center at 1551 Market St. The new market center has been under development over the past year. The project is led by K2 Development and is slated to open in the summer of 2024.
The wine bar concept will be led by local sommelier Jacquelyn Horton, who oversees the culinary arts program and teaches wine classes at Shasta College. Horton also organizes private wine tasting pop up events across Redding in partnership with local businesses.
For the new concept, Horton will partner with Scott Brody, a San Francisco-based food and beverage industry veteran. Brody will move to Redding to operate the wine bar once it opens. The pair is still in the design and conceptualization process for the business, and a name hasn’t been chosen yet.
K2 Development Companies worked with Steve Carlin, CEO of Carlin Company, who founded the Oxbow Public Market in Napa, on the Redding public market concept. Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco and Pike Place Market in Seattle also provided inspiration for the project.
Other confirmed tenants joining the new public market include 32 Below Ice Cream, Fall River Brewing, a new bakery concept from Tarsus Foods, The Bantam Kitchen, and an Asian noodle concept. The new marketplace is anticipated to open in the summer of 2024.
