Downtown Sacramento staple Jim Denny’s is relocating after serving the community for over 80 years at 816 12th Street. In a recent Instagram post, Jim Denny’s announced it will begin serving at the new Broadway and 18th Street location in partnership with New Helvetia Brewery starting July 18.
Offerings at the New Sacramento Location
Patrons can enjoy burgers, hot dogs, chili cheese dogs, and fries at Jim Denny’s from Friday, July 18. The new hours are Wednesday to Sunday at the diner is from 5 p.m. until closing. For now, the partnership with New Helvetia Brewery is limited to dinner service only.
The move follows owner N’Gina Guyton’s announcement on July 2 that the diner would be closing. The restaurateur had stated that the landlord had given her a sudden eviction notice in April.
Guyton attempted to purchase the building but was unable to secure investors, nearly forcing her to shut down operations at the 80-year-old location. Before this, the historic Sacramento food establishment had once closed in 2020 and came back into business in 2023.
Despite setbacks, Jim Denny’s is getting ready to continue serving customers through its new partnership.
