It looks like a Bellevue, Washington-based pizza chain may soon open another Sacramento area location.
MOD Pizza is set to occupy a 2,575-square-foot space at Alder Creek Marketplace, a Safeway-anchored shopping center slated to open in 2027 at the southwest corner of Alder Creek Parkway and East Bidwell Street in Folsom Ranch.
Exceed Group, franchise partner of MOD Pizza, is leading the expansion in Northern California. Because the development is still in progress, a confirmed street address has not yet been finalized, a company representative told What Now Sacramento. MOD Folsom is projected to open in fall 2027 and is expected to create 20 to 30 new local jobs.
Founded in 2008 by Scott and Ally Svenson, MOD Pizza now operates nearly 500 locations nationwide, including existing local sites in Sacramento, Woodland, and Roseville. The chain is known for its individually sized, made-to-order pizzas, along with classics like salads and cheesy bread.
Exceed Group currently operates 12 MOD Pizza locations and continues to invest in community-focused growth across the region. In addition to Folsom, the group is also developing a new MOD Pizza in Lincoln, expected to open later this year.
Alder Creek Marketplace spans 12 acres and 95,000 square feet just south of Highway 50. Approved in March 2024, the shopping center is under construction, with Jersey Mike’s Subs as the first tenant to sign on. Other confirmed leases include Paris Baguette, Nail Chateau II, and Next Health.
