A new Mongolian barbecue joint is firing up in Citrus Heights.

The upcoming restaurant, which has not yet been named, is set to take over a roughly 3,200-square-foot space at 7056 Sunrise Boulevard in the Copperwood Square retail center, the owner confirmed with What Now Sacramento.

Behind the project is the former operator of O Tasty Mongolian BBQ, which fed Roseville’s Westfield Galleria crowds for more than a decade before closing last year.

Diners can expect a familiar spread of build-your-own barbecue bowls piled high with meats, noodles, and veggies, alongside popular sides like pork potstickers, egg rolls, and crab rangoons.

Broker Sunny Sun of KW Commercial told the Sacramento Business Journal that the space itself will undergo remodeling, including upgrades to the kitchen, before opening its doors. If all goes according to plan, the restaurant will be ready to serve in about six months.

Copperwood Square spans nearly 30,000 square feet and sits at the northeast corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Woodmore Oaks Drive. The center is anchored by FoodMaxx, Planet Fitness, and Dollar Tree.
