Mexican flare is in full-blown as a new bar called Oaxaca is planning to join Sacramento’s diverse food scene. As the name indicates, traditional Oaxacan food and Mexican hospitality sit at the core of this new concept.

Valued at $30,000, this project will include a restaurant, a brand-new bar, and a retail space. The space will have both indoor and outdoor seating with a rotating art exhibition on the outside featuring Oaxacan artwork, fully adapting Latin America’s al fresco dining tradition to stimulate the overall connection with the community and a feeling of inclusiveness.

The restaurant’s menu will feature authentic tlayuda dishes, including tlayuda nachos. Tlayuda is a traditional Oaxacan streetfood that is a large tortilla spread with pork fat and beans, topped with meat, cheese, vegetables, and salsas. As for beverages, Oaxaca will specialize in mezcal and craft cocktails.

Oaxaca will be located in the ground floor retail space of Union Park at The Triangle in Oak Park at 3400 Broadway, a mixed-use development project highlighting culinary talent, makers, and thinkers. This is part of Ernesto Delgado Hospitality Group’s latest attempt to develop creative and innovative hospitality brands after successfully operating Tequila Museo Mayahuel, La Cosecha Sacramento, and Mesa Mercado in Carmichael.

At the time of this coverage, Ernesto Delgado did not respond to What Now Sacramento’s request for comments.
