Banh Mi Mi, a new Vietnamese sandwich shop, is getting close to opening at 2302 Arden Way in Sacramento. The space was previously occupied by a Subway, now marked as temporarily closed. Owner David To Lau told What Now Sacramento via text that the new eatery is anticipated to open in early December.

The approximately 4,300-square-foot two-story retail building is anchored by a florist. The building also houses The Bubble Hive, a boba tea and bubble waffle cafe. Other businesses and eateries in the adjacent area include Leatherby’s Family Creamery, Kico’s Mexican Food, Carl’s Junior, and a KFC location.

“I always loved cooking since I was young and developed a passion for it over the years. My parents are from Vietnam but are ethnically Chinese. I travel a lot, and like tasting foods from different cultures to incorporate new flavors into my dishes. On my recent travels, I have visited Ho Chi Minh and tried various Banh Mi spots, even the ones famous YouTuber vloggers have tried. This inspired me to open up my own Banh Mi restaurant but with David Lau’s own take on it,” Lau told What Now Sacramento in an email.

According to the Google Business Listing for Banh Mi Mi, the eatery appears to be open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm. In addition to sandwiches, the shop will also serve fruit smoothies, chicken salads, shrimp spring rolls, chips, and specialty sodas.
