Old Town Pizza submitted plans to the city of Roseville to begin work on the closed downtown US post office building at 320 Vernon St. The plans adds a a full commercial kitchen, a third-story outdoor dining deck, and a 804-square-foot taproom for the restaurant’s affiliated concept, Slice Beer. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal.

The existing building is about 19,500 square feet and the proposed restaurant and taproom will have a footprint of 15,569 square feet as shown in plans submitted. The combined capacity will be 400 seats and the taproom will have an outdoor area with games for groups to enjoy. Reese Browning, co-owner of Old Town Pizza told the Business Journal that he also envisioned other retail businesses to occupy the remaining area of the building.

Demolition and abatement of the existing building is expected to take approximately six weeks and may have already begun. The ownership group is anticipating to open the restaurant and taproom in late 2025 or early 2026. Browning also told Business Journal that they might convert “the building’s basement into an events center and cocktail bar, with a capacity of about 120” in the future.

Old Town Pizza’s current lease for its Old Town Roseville location ends at the end of 2025. “The timing will be ideal to move over,” Browning told the Business Journal.
