An East Bay coffee mainstay is brewing up a new Greater Sacramento site.
Peet’s Coffee is preparing to open a new café at 1801 Douglas Blvd in Roseville, taking over a former bank building within the Placer Center retail complex, according to city records and leasing materials. The site sits at the busy intersection of Douglas Boulevard and Santa Clara Drive, part of a roughly 176,000-square-foot shopping center that continues to attract new tenants.
Leasing documents for the property are already teasing the addition, encouraging prospective retailers to “Join Peet’s Coffee at 1801 Douglas!” while highlighting the center’s high traffic counts and established anchors, including Ross and Hobby Lobby. Several adjacent spaces remain available.
Founded in 1966 in Berkeley, Peet’s has long been known for its rich, dark-roasted coffee and thoughtfully crafted beverages. The menu spans everything from its signature Baridi Cold Brew and Havana Cappuccino to a lineup of flavored lattes—vanilla, caramel, and matcha, to name a few—alongside breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and other grab-and-go fare.
The expansion comes at a moment of transition for the company. Following its recent acquisition by Keurig Dr Pepper, Peet’s has announced plans to close dozens of underperforming locations nationwide as part of a broader corporate realignment. Even so, the brand continues to invest in strong-performing regions like Sacramento, where it already operates around 25 outposts.
