Tequileros Taqueria, a popular Mexican restaurant chain, is building its 9th location at 801 Howe Ave in Sacramento. The new location is slated to open in about three weeks, bringing the brand’s beloved Quesabirria Tacos, Tequilero Nachos, and Cheesy Jalapeños to the neighborhood.

Founded by Edgar Gomez, Tequileros Taqueria currently operates locations in Lodi, Galt, Stockton, Elk Grove, Salida/Modesto, as well as Tequileros Cantina in Lodi. The brand started as a taco truck in Lodi and quickly grew to establish more trucks and restaurants.

The menu features various tacos, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, bowls, and specialty items such as the Tequilero Nachos and the weekend-only Chilaquiles, which is crunchy tortilla chips topped with a choice of tangy salsa verde or smoky salsa roja, fried egg, and a drizzle of tequilero salsa, sour cream, onions and cilantro and cheese.

The new location will continue to use the iconic plain and turquoise palette as seen at other Tequileros Taqueria locations. Other eateries in the area include Ramen & More and Sushi Hook.
