Earlier this week, the Fairfield City Planning Commission approved plans for a new Starbucks at Travis Boulevard. The address is currently occupied by the popular Fairfield Thai restaurant Bintoh Thai. As the Starbucks plan indicates full demolition of the existing building for a rebuild, Bintoh Thai has announced on its website a relocation to 1300 W Texas St, joining the Country Corner Center on the corner of Texas and Pennsylvania Ave, taking over the space of a former California Check Cashing Stores.
Bintoh Thai posted an announcement on its website indicating the restaurant will be temporarily closed to prepare for the relocation and its last day at the current address will be Monday, November 20. Regulars and the local community have expressed joy that the restaurant chose to stay in Fairfield.
Owned and operated by June Kitapan, Bintoh Thai opened in Fairfield in April, 2020 at Travis Boulevard and has since become a local favorite. The restaurant temporarily closed the Fairfield location in 2021 and moved out to Vallejo, but returned and reopened the Travis Blvd location in 2022. The restaurant serves authentic Thai dishes and street food using the freshest ingredients. The menu also includes a wide variety of Boba tea flavors.
By the time of this coverage, Kitapan did not respond to What Now Sacramento‘s request for comments. There is currently no update regarding when Bintoh Thai will open to the public at the new location.
