A local brewing company has temporarily paused service at its North Auburn taproom.

Rebellion Brewing Company closed its doors at 11768 Atwood Rd, Suite 3, on Tuesday, Sept. 23, as husband-and-wife owners Bret and Ariel McComb prepare to renovate the space.

“Beginning today, we will be temporarily closing our taproom for a revamp and future reopening,” the couple shared in a social media update. “During this time our beers will still be available at restaurants, taprooms, and entertainment venues across Placer County.”

Since opening in early 2020, Rebellion Brewing has built a following with its inventive brews, including the Rebel Light lager, Gold N Honey blonde ale, Frankenseltzer mixed berry seltzer, and Midnight Rebellion brown ale. The brewery serves pints through a one-of-a-kind bottom-up tap system, where magnet-fitted glasses fill from the base up to ensure a perfect pour every time.

The taproom itself has become known for its convenient, distinctive features: an ice rail to keep drinks frosty, in-bar wireless chargers, and five state-of-the-art TVs for sports viewing.

The McCombs have not yet revealed the scope of the renovations or a reopening timeline. For now, they encourage locals to follow along on social media @rebellionbrewingcompany for updates.
