Pink Martini California Kitchen & Cocktails, a popular upscale casual spot serving American bites, cocktails, and wine with regular live music, has closed for renovations amid an ongoing issue with the landlord of the site at 6700 Lonetree Blvd Suite 100 in Rocklin.
The restaurant closed on Feb. 2, stating the business had closed for renovations until further notice, according to Sacramento Business Journal. Pink Martini first opened at the Blue Oaks Town Center in 2017, but since 2023, owner Kyle Oliver has faced issues with the building that have affected the business, including leaks in its dining room, partial roof collapse, and collateral water damage. Oliver says the landlord has addressed some cosmetic issues with the space since then but has “neglected” the more significant drainage issue.
Oliver tells the Business Journal that he notified property management and ownership of the center that they would be closing Pink Martini this month to make repairs but have not been given any assurances that the issues would be addressed. He estimates the work could be done within a few weeks, saying the business has to relocate, and a lawsuit seeking damages against the landlord would likely follow. Whether or not the issues in the current space are resolved, or the company decides to relocate, the closure proves Oliver is committed to improving his business.
“It’s an ongoing saga and has led us to closing so that they can make the repairs,” Oliver tells the Business Journal regarding Pink Martini. “Ultimately, we’ve got to be open to the potential that we might have to relocate because this has gone on for so long, and this is solely the landlord’s responsibility. We are very frustrated but hopeful that the issues will be resolved.”
