An upcoming Mongolian barbecue restaurant in Citrus Heights has been on What Now Sacramento‘s radar since last August, and more details are finally starting to emerge.
The new eatery will be called O Tasty Mongolian BBQ, according to the Citrus Heights Messenger, and is taking over a roughly 3,200-square-foot space at 7056 Sunrise Boulevard in the Copperwood Square shopping plaza. The restaurant is currently under construction, with crews focused on finishing kitchen buildouts and installing equipment, reports the publication.
Recent progress is also visible from the street. New exterior signage has been mounted above the entrance, featuring the word “tasty” in bold black lettering, paired with chopsticks perched atop a circular, bowl-shaped “O.”
O Tasty Mongolian BBQ is no stranger to the Sacramento region. The owner previously operated an O Tasty Mongolian BBQ in the Westfield Galleria at Roseville, where it served mall crowds for more than a decade before closing in 2024.
While an official menu has not yet been released, diners can expect the familiar Mongolian barbecue experience: build-your-own bowls loaded with sliced meats, fresh vegetables, and noodles, all cooked to order on a large circular griddle right in front of guests. Popular sides at similar concepts typically include pork potstickers, egg rolls, and crab rangoons.
O Tasty Mongolian BBQ is slated to open before the end of March 2026. Copperwood Square sits at the northeast corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Woodmore Oaks Drive and is anchored by FoodMaxx, Planet Fitness, and Dollar Tree.
