Redding’s Moonstone Bistro announced on its Facebook page that a new concept is filling the vacant space at 3425 Placer St, Ste 110. Co-owners Joe and Kate Wood of Bantam Kitchen have signed the lease for the former restaurant space to open Honeymoon Southern Kitchen.

“The ink is dry! Fictitious business name filed. Lease signed. Today ‘Honeymoon Southern Kitchen’ was born!” The post read. “Tanya and I made sure of it. We want Redding to be proud. And Joe and Kate are the Best of Redding. We cant wait to see it! We cant wait to go there! Sitting on the patio slurping a cocktail eating whatever southern special they are offering..laughing our asses off at the chaos we get to watch, instead of manage.”

Owners Che and Tanya Stedman opened Moonstone Bistro in 2007 and closed the restaurant this summer. The building has remained vacant since then. Meanwhile, Joe and Kate Wood are also opening another Bantam Kitchen location in the upcoming Redding Public Market.

What Now Sacramento reached out to the new owners but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
