A Washington, D.C.-based breakfast franchise is expanding further in the Sacramento area, reports the Sacramento Business Journal.
Toastique has officially signed on as the first retail tenant at Maker, the Midtown Sacramento mixed-use apartment and retail project from Anthem Properties Group Ltd. The fast-casual eatery will land on the southeast corner of 15th and S streets at 1500 S St, taking over roughly 1,500 square feet of the building’s ground-floor retail space. Maker itself offers about 9,700 square feet of retail overall.
Founded in 2018, Toastique has grown rapidly, boasting more than 50 locations open or in development, 85+ franchise partners, and over 160 awarded franchise agreements. The brand has built its reputation on health-forward, fast-casual fare such as gourmet toasts, smoothie bowls, fresh smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and coffee and espresso drinks. Guests can also grab wellness shots, housemade baked goods, and other light bites.
Franchisee Raman Rai did not respond to What Now Sacramento‘s requests for comment, and an official opening date has not yet been announced. However, locals can sample the menu at Toastique’s existing nearby outpost in the Rocklin Crossings shopping center.
Though Maker hasn’t landed any retail tenants since the 137-unit project opened at 1516 S St in the spring of 2024, momentum is finally building, and Turton Commercial Real Estate is reportedly in talks with another tenant that would occupy roughly 3,500 square feet in the building.
