A new restaurant is being planned for West Davis.

According to a pending beer and wine license filed May 30, 2025, Vininni is planning to take over the former site of Running Rivers Cafe & Wine Bar at 1260 Lake Blvd, Suite 116. The license application lists Lisa Cristine Carvajal, managing member of Codoni & McBride, LLC, as the operator behind the project.

Carvajal briefly confirmed her involvement with What Now Sacramento, promising to share more details in the coming weeks. So far, public records reveal only that Vininni is classified as an “eating place” with on-site beer and wine service. Beyond that, little else is known about the eatery.

Running Rivers opened as a wine bar in 2017 and later expanded to include a cafe in 2023, offering fair-trade coffee and pastries from the nearby Village Bakery. Though it’s unclear when the business shuttered, its social media presence went dark in 2024.

We’ll be watching as Vininni takes shape in Davis, so stay tuned for updates.
