It appears a popular coffee roaster chain is expanding its local footprints again. Roseville-based World Traveler Coffee Roasters is working on a new location at 2171 Cowell Blvd., Suite F, in South Davis. This story was first seen in Davis Enterprise reporter Wendy Weitzel’s new Sutstack, continuing her business news column called Comings & Goings.
World Traveler Coffee Roasters currently operates cafes in Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Midtown Sacramento, Downtown Commons, and Granite Bay. Regular cafe patrons repeatedly requested a Davis location, either in person at the brand’s cafes in Sacrament or via email. Now, it looks like their request will finally be fulfilled.
“I love Davis. I go there a lot,” Co-owner Yaniv Rosenberg told Comings & Goings. “It’s a vibrant community. They are diverse. There are young people, students, families. We have a lot to offer this community. And we are excited.”
The space, located inside the Oakshade Town Center, was previously occupied by Common Grounds Coffee, which closed last August after serving the community for over 20 years. Having another coffee shop to fill the space would continue a familiar tradition that has created a friendly gathering space for the South Davis population.
The 1,809-square-foot site already comes with a cafe and a patio, and is slightly larger than World Traveler Coffee’s usual size, providing more opportunities for customers to sit and spend some quality time alone or together. Adjusting to local demands, the Davis location will have a larger menu of food and drinks, plus unique desserts made from scratch.
“The menu is wide, starting with our coffee varieties and specialty lattes,” Rosenberg told Comings & Goings, adding the location will also have “some of the more unique desserts in the area.” What Now Sacramento reached out to Rosenberg but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
World Traveler Coffee Roaster’s Davis location is anticipated to open in the first quarter of 2025. The company is also developing its franchising program to expand further into other markets.
