Roseville is set to welcome its second Costco at 5200 Baseline Road. Scheduled to open January 23, it marks a significant step towards kicking off the long-delayed development of Baseline Marketplace.
Incentive Worth $6 Million Cleared
The opening of Costco came after the City Council had unanimously approved an incentive package that convinced the supermarket to build at the Baseline Marketplace. Located at 5200 Baseline Road, the Council had approved a $6M incentive package in May 2023 to bring the retail giant to West Roseville.
CEO of Advanced Development Concepts, LLC, and former Roseville City Council member, R. Scott Alvord, had noted in a LinkedIn post that Costco was expected to bring $3 million in revenue in Phase 1.
“We expect Costco to bring our city’s general fund $3M in revenue PER YEAR in their Phase 1 buildout. At the full buildout of Baseline Marketplace, we expect $7-9M in city revenue per year! Costco will more than pay for the incentive dollars within just a few years of initial operation, or one year of full operation,” he had said.
The new store marks a major milestone for the Baseline Marketplace development, a project that has been in the works for several years.
Available Warehouse Services
Costco’s new location provides its members with several of its warehouse services. It will have a gas station, a tire service center, an EV station, a T-Mobile Cellular kiosk, and a pharmacy.
The website notes that when only one pharmacist is on duty, the Pharmacy may be closed for 30 minutes from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. According to the website, executive members can shop Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM, on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Gold Star and business members have access from Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM, Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Costco’s West Roseville location adds convenience for shoppers while supporting the advancement of Baseline Marketplace.
