According to MySA, San Antonio’s popular cocktail bar La Ruina is shuttering and a new concept, Louie’s Icehouse, is taking its place.

“It’s with great sadness we announce our FINAL DAY OF SERVICE as La Ruina, this Saturday, September 28th,” the business shared to Instagram late last year. “Sincerest thanks to all our regulars, our visitors, and everyone who helped build up this establishment we love,” the statement continues.

Coming to 410 Austin Street, Louie’s will land near establishments such as Artisan Distillery & Craft Bar, Boxcar Bar, and Burleson Yard Beer Garden.

“It’s going to be a neighborhood chill bar more than anything,” the concept’s co-owner, Luis Muñoz, tells MySA. He adds, “I really want to cater to the neighbors, to industry, to the locals, and we’re just trying to be a casual bar.”

What Now San Antonio reached out to Muñoz, as well as co-owner Eric Hanken, to inquire about their plans for the spot, but they could not provide additional information before publication.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
