Eggspectation will close its San Antonio location in mid-March. The breakfast-and-brunch concept announced it through social media post. The news left its customers in shock as the tenure will end in the Stone Oak.

Eggspectation to Close Stone Oak Location After Nearly a Decade

Eggspectation was founded in 1993 in Montreal as a breakfast-focused brand. The concept centers on globally inspired dishes built around eggs. What began as a single restaurant has since grown into an international brand.

Eggs are the main ingredient in the concept, used in a vast assortment of omelets, benedicts, scrambles, and specialty items. The San Antonio restaurant has been in operation for nearly 9.5 years.

Recently, the restaurant at 402 N Loop 1604 W announced its permanent closure. The announcement did not specify a reason for the closure but thanked the community for its years of support.

The restaurant built a loyal following for its elevated brunch offerings. Guests have until March 15, 2026, to visit the Stone Oak restaurant before it closes.

The post ended with, “Thank you, San Antonio—you’ve been family, and this has been one egg-cellent adventure. See you soon for the grand finale!”

As the only Eggspectation in the San Antonio region, the closure leaves a void for the local fans. For many, it was a favorite spot to have a weekend brunch, business meetings, and family get-togethers.

Its spacious dining room and casual atmosphere set it apart in Stone Oak. People expressed their emotions through comments on the announcement post. Some wrote “No” in disbelief, while another user mentioned “Nooooooo. Can I get one of those beautiful cow heads as a memento?”

Eggspectation was also famous for its menu. Guests had numerous options of omelets, benedicts, crepes, waffles, and pancakes. The menu also featured burgers, pasta dishes, seafood, and globally inspired entrées.

Long-time customers have a few days to revisit their old favorites and say goodbye to a neighborhood brunch spot. The impending closure of Eggspectation will have a significant impact on the dining industry of the region.
