According to MySA, a new wine bar is coming to the Blue Star Arts Complex, The Wine Bar at King William.
“This [concept] pays homage to [the] King William [neighborhood]. It will have a lot of old European touches that people will be surprised at. And we are actually a wine bar, but we will have a full liquor license,” one of the concept’s co-owners, Juan Arreguin — who will operate the business alongside Jill Quick-McCrosky — tells the Journal. He adds, “And we’re going to have a full kitchen.”
What Now San Antonio reached out to the owners to learn more about their plans for the upcoming restaurant; however, additional information could not be gathered before publication.
Nevertheless, the Journal reports that lavender-braised lamb shank and beef osso buco will be on the menu.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the Blue Star Arts Complex, the locale is home to San Antonio’s longest-running contemporary art space, the Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum. It also features apartments, restaurants, an arthouse cinema, and a number of smaller galleries, artist studios, and retail shops, per its website.
“The Blue Star Arts Complex was the city’s first mixed-use development and the seed of its creative economy – originally built at a time before either of those terms were in use,” the statement continues.
Additional concepts located at the site include the drinkery Bar 1919, the contemporary lounge Joe Blue’s, and the sushi and champagne bar Sukeban.
The concept will hold a soft-opening event in October. Its grand opening is “to be announced at a later date,” per the Journal. Follow What Now San Antonio on Facebook to stay up to date on the latest restaurant news in the San Antonio metropolitan area.
