Playa Bowls is set to expand its footprint in the Cibolo area with a new location planned at the Cibolo Bend Shopping Center, according to project filings. Dipesh Patel confirmed that they are the franchise owners of the upcoming space to WhatNow San Antonio.
The popular fast-casual health food chain that specializes in serving customizable superfruit bowls, smoothies, and juices. Often called “Slice of Summer,” the brand is famous for its bright, tropical beach-shack aesthetic and its focus on fresh, nutritious, and photogenic food.
Playa Bowls’ incoming shop will be located at 513 Cibolo Valley Dr, Suite #113 in Cibolo, Texas, and will occupy a 1,345-square-foot space that is set for a full remodel. The renovation project is estimated at $154,281 and is being privately funded on private land for private use.
Construction is expected to begin on June 1, 2026, with completion anticipated by September 1, 2026. The project is currently listed as “Project Registered,” indicating it is still in the early planning and approval stages.
The Cibolo location will be part of Playa Bowls’ continued expansion across Texas, where the brand has been steadily growing its presence in suburban markets. Known for its colourful bowls, smoothies, and health-focused menu, Playa Bowls has built a following around acai bowls, pitaya bowls, and fruit-forward offerings that cater to wellness-conscious consumers.
Once opened, the Cibolo location will join the brand’s wider network of locations across the United States, adding another fast-growing concept to the Cibolo Bend Shopping Center retail mix.
