A routine health inspection took place at the Broadway outlet. The inspecting officer found that the facility lacked a food safety certification. This is classified as a minor violation; however, all food employees are required to have food safety training.
The inspector observed that the facility did not have proper handwashing facilities. The sinks lacked cleanliness and were not reliably available for use. The presence of live insects, rodents, and their droppings prompted the inspector to issue an immediate closure order due to vermin infestation.
There were some out-of-compliance observations as well. During the inspection, the officer noticed that the nonfood contact surfaces were unclean. Some of the tiles on the floors and the walls need immediate attention and repair, along with cleaning of the perimeters.
Senor Taquero failed the health inspection conducted on Tuesday and was ordered to temporarily cease operations. Once all the violations have been addressed, the compliance status will be rechecked, and the outlet can reopen.
