Since the early 1900s, the Loma Club has provided the local community and San Diego visitors a place to hang out, have a good time and enjoy a few rounds. And it doesn’t appear that’s going to change any time soon.

Plans for the future include adding a mini golf course and cocktail bar to the historic nine-hole walking course.

The Loma Club posted the big news onto social media last week.

“The Loma Club is excited to introduce: Tappers Mini Golf & Cocktails,” the post reads. “A high-end mini golf course and cocktail concept coming to our historic golf course.”

Construction on the course begins in a few weeks and “will be done in a way as to not hinder daily play and use of the facilities.”

In Liberty Station, a neighborhood that sprawls across the grounds of a former naval base turned into a local dining, retail, arts and entertainment destination, golfers and their families will be able to spend all day on the course, in the bar and/or shopping should they so choose.

“Just tap it in. Get ready for some happy news,” Shop Eat Liberty Station posted on Instagram before sharing its excitement for its incoming neighbor.

The plan is to open the mini golf course by the end of the summer.

Tappers Co-Owner Luke Mahoney could not be reached for comment in time of publication.
