In the heart of Little Italy, the whimsical Queenstown Public House has been serving San Diegans New Zealand-inspired dishes and offerings for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. The eatery is owned by PJ Lamont and Matt Baker, restaurateurs who also operate Bare Back Bar & Grill and Dunedin.
Queenstown Public House, according to SanDiegoVille, has plans to open a new location. This restaurant will reportedly open at 1044 Wall Street, Suites C & D, in La Jolla. Queenstown La Jolla will take over the space previously occupied by Karl Strauss Brewing, which closed permanently earlier this year after operating on Wall Street for 25 years. There Queenstown Public Hosue will be in good company, surrounded by restaurants like Puesto La Jolla, Burger Lounge, and Sushi Nekosan.
If previous Queenstown menus are any indication, you’ll be able to enjoy an array of cocktails, from the New Zealand #45 to the Violet Beauregarde. The After 3PM menu offers seafood, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. After 5PM, you can order items like New Zealand Seafood Stew and Wellington Meatloaf.
We were unable to reach owners at the time of publication, so you’ll want to visit Queenstown Public House’s website for more information.
